The big day finally arrived and we were able to move. This was a long awaited day but – patience is a virtue. We were able to move in a few days early which was a surprise and a blessing. The previous owners used most of the space as storage for their electrical company so we really needed and wanted to tailor this space for Upscaled Designs.

The vision is modern and industrial. Upscaled Designs colors are green, black, and white. How are we going to incorporate these colors into this space you might ask! You will find out more over the next few weeks but for now we will give you an idea. Week one was demo of the office space and patch work. The front office space has 2 large offices and a reception area. I’m pretty sure this space had never been cleaned so we had a lot of cleaning and painting to do of the walls/doors, and windows. The paint choices were clear that a grey color would be the final choice. Initially flagstone grey was chosen however after applying to the walls this ended up being darker than initially desired so back to the paint store it was. A lighter gray called Gray Stone was chosen and needless to say this was a much better option.  The walls will be accented which will be revealed later on with the green and black. The door frames and window frames are all painted black which was a fun way to get rid of the oak look and make the space look more modern.

The carpet that was present was very dirty and needed to be removed. It was all ripped up and flooring will be installed this next week. For now though the shop room walls were patched and painted and floors were completed. The decision for the floors was to go with a fun epoxy flooring that has white, black, gray, and green chips in them. Many of you have probably done this type of flooring in your garage. We chose to go with a smoother finish so it was easier to clean.

Upscaled Designs is still running as usual at our current location so please don’t hesitate to contact us today for your print needs.  Sneak peak into week two includes flooring in the office space, demo upstairs on the mezzanine, and ROQ install.
